Workshop Series: “Who Cares? Why Pastoral Care Matters and How to Do It Well.”

The Theology, Medicine, and Culture Initiative and the Office of Ministerial Formation are sponsoring a seminar series entitled “Who Cares? Why Pastoral Care Matters and How to Do It Well.” The seven-part series provides an introduction to counseling skills, mental health, and self-care for students planning to be pastors or church leaders. It offers practical knowledge and tools to help equip students to care for themselves and other well. The series is open to anyone in the Divinity School community. No registration is required.

The second meeting of the series, on October 17th, will cover self-care and boundaries and be led by Tara Corbett, MSW. For more information see the Events page.

The other sessions in the series are: “Grief and Loss,” Nov. 14; “Depression,” Jan. 23; “Suicidality,” Feb. 20; “Alcohol and Substance Abuse,” March 20; and “Interpersonal Conflict/Violence,” April 10. All the sessions will be held in Room 0014 of the Westbrook Building.
