is an MTS student and medical student at Duke University School of Medicine. Born and raised in the Bay Area by a Hindu family, Monica has a heart for understanding how culture shapes our lived faith experience. She studied medical anthropology as an undergrad at Rice University (Houston, TX) and was involved in lots of things cancer-related: nanotechnology research, Camp Kesem, breast cancer ethnography, global health tech. When Monica is not ushering for the Duke men’s basketball team or spending time with loved ones, you can find Monica seeking out the newest boba café in the triangle. Her academic interests lie at the intersection of theology, end-of-life care and surgical oncology. She looks forward to becoming a part of the Div community and being challenged to see how the ordinary spaces in her life are sacred.
