Clark Howell, MD

is a general surgery resident at Duke University Hospital. Prior to training at Duke, he attended medical school down the street at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before his medical journey, he spent seven years in Atlanta and completed a bachelor’s in industrial engineering and a master’s in health systems at the Georgia Institute of Technology while working as an engineer at UPS and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. His interest in the TMC program is born from his desire to re-imagine the delivery of healthcare and consider the moral formation of surgical residents. He enjoys spending time with his wife Claire, his community, and nature, as well as brewing coffee and beer.
