is a TMC Fellow completing a Certificate in Theology and Health Care. He graduated from Duke University in 1993 and the Medical College of Georgia in 1997. He completed a surgical residency at the Atlanta Medical Center in 2002. He is on sabbatical from his practice as a full-time clinical General Surgeon with Kaiser Permanente for the past twenty years. Chris is from Memphis, TN, and is the only child of Wayne and Judy of Atlanta, GA. He currently resides in Hillsboro, OR, with his nuclear family: his wife, Laura, and their daughters Bailey (18) and Riley (15). Chris’ calling in health care is to equanimity amidst daily human suffering and to the well-being of his colleagues. Every day he strives to move a step closer to his namesake: Christopher “bearer of Christ” Lucius “light.”
