TMC Seminar: “Science and Religion Converging on the Body,” A Conversation with Elaine Howard Ecklund

Elaine Howard Ecklund is the Herbert S. Autrey Chair in Social Sciences, Professor of Sociology, and director of The Religion and Public Life Program at Rice University, where she is also a Rice Scholar at the Baker Institute for Public Policy.  Dr Ecklund’s scholarship and research interests include the role of religious identity, belief, and practice in science and medicine.  She will be interviewed on her scholarship and its relevance to contemporary health care by Brett McCarty, ThD,  St. Andrews Fellow in Theology and Science at Duke Divinity School.   This conversation is the first in the fall series of seminars presented by the Divinity School’s Theology, Medicine, and Culture Initiative.
